ABOUT

Born in Crimea, Ukraine, to Russian and Bulgarian parents, my artistic journey began amidst the tumultuous backdrop of Perestroika. Growing up, I found solace and expression in creating art, gifting my sketches and paintings to those around me. It was in a childhood art class that I discovered gouache, igniting a lifelong passion for painting.

At thirteen, I immigrated to the United States with my mother. Adapting to a new culture and language was a challenging yet formative experience that profoundly shaped my artistic perspective. The vibrant diversity of America inspired me to explore new styles and techniques, infusing my work with a unique blend of Eastern European heritage and Western influences.

After graduating with a degree in English and working in corporate America, I realized my true calling lay in art. Overcoming the fear of the "starving artist" stereotype, I dedicated myself to pursuing a professional artistic career. Today, my work is admired in private collections worldwide, reflecting my diverse background and evolving artistic style.

My artistic repertoire spans from abstract expressionism and portrait expressionism to more serene watercolor florals and landscapes. I am particularly drawn to using oils and acrylics to explore and express my emotions on canvas. Through my art, I invite you to join me on a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration.
